Psychology Practicum:
Enlightened Mental Health offers comprehensive training for advanced psychology graduate students. Students should be enrolled in a doctoral clinical or counseling psychology program that is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). Students with a Masters degree will be given preference.
- Placements are for either 2 or 3 days per week (16-24 hours).
- Assessment-only, therapy-only, or hybrid (combination of therapy and psychological assessment) placement options are available.
- Full-time student's will receive a minimum of two hours per week of supervision with a licensed psychologist.
- Elective students will receive a minimum of one hour per week of supervision with a licensed psychologist.
- Practicum is expected to start at the beginning of the Fall semester, through the Winter semester, and be completed at the end of the Summer Semester. Practicum students can extend their practicum past the Summer semester with permission from their supervisor and their school. Under special circumstances, adjustments may be made to accommodate.
- The training of students will take place one to two weeks prior to the start of practicum and will include going over policies and procedures as well as training regarding the EHR system, testing, scoring, and templating procedures (for those students completing an assessment only or hybrid practicum), SOAP notes training, and treatment plan training. During this time, practicum goals will also be established.
