Johnny is a counseling master’s student at the College of William & Mary and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Maryland. Through previous roles, he has supported individuals in accessing resources, connecting them with mental health services, and working toward personal goals.
He is excited to be completing his internship with Enlightened Mental Health as he works toward becoming an LMHCA. He has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, and enjoys supporting clients navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, eating behaviors, substance use, trauma, family issues, identity exploration, and behavioral challenges. He draws from approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-focused, and expressive modalities such as art and play, adapting his approach to each individual.
He takes a holistic, strengths-based, collaborative approach to therapy, grounded in the belief that clients already carry insight, resilience, and the capacity for growth. He strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward in ways that feel authentic to them.
Outside of therapy, Johnny enjoys caring for his plants, cooking, traveling, going on walks, spending time with his loved ones (including cats), and drinking lots of coffee.
