Psychological Testing

Psychological testing offers comprehensive insights into an individual’s cognitive, emotional, intellectual, and behavioral functioning. This process involves the administration of standardized tests to assist with diagnostic clarification and to inform individualized treatment recommendations. Services are available for clients from school age through adulthood.

The evaluation process begins with an intake interview, typically lasting one hour, during which a detailed history is obtained. Clients are encouraged to provide any relevant supporting documentation, such as report cards, standardized test results, medical records, previous evaluations, or court documents, to assist in the assessment process. Self-report rating scales may also be administered as part of the evaluation. The testing appointment will be scheduled following the intake interview, with the duration of direct testing varying based on the referral questions and presenting concerns. After all testing is completed, the evaluator will prepare a comprehensive report and review the results, feedback, and recommendations with the client during a one-hour follow-up session, typically scheduled two to three weeks after the testing appointment.

Types of Evaluations/Testing conducted:

-Comprehensive Psychological Evaluations: For children, adolescents, and adults. Assess intellectual, emotional, behavioral, and personality functioning, including diagnostic clarification for intellectual disabilities, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, personality disorders, and behavioral disorders.

-Psychoeducational Evaluations: Assess learning disabilities, academic strengths and weaknesses, and provide educational recommendations.

-Medical Evaluations: Including pain pump and spinal cord stimulator evaluations to determine psychological readiness and identify factors that may impact surgical outcomes.

-Psychological Clearance Evaluations: Including military evaluations for psychological fitness and deployment readiness.

-Forensic Evaluations: Including child hearsay evaluations, parenting evaluations, and other court-ordered assessments.

-Substance Use Evaluations: Assess for substance use disorders and treatment needs.
